Symantec Software Scholarship
Applicants must create and enter a software-based science project into a Utah regional science fair. Applicants are selected to compete in a Utah regional science fair by qualifying in both the school and district science fairs. Students must register as a Symantec Software scholarship participant when they enter the regional science fair. Participants do not have to win at the regional science fair level, but they must compete at this level to be chosen for a Symantec Software Scholarship.

Carefully review Symantec Scholarship Rules and Regulations so that you can be certain that your project idea meets the Symantec Software Scholarship requirements. Be selected to compete in a Utah regional science fair, for high school grades 9-12, by qualifying in both your school and district science fairs. Hunt Electric Merit Scholarship
This award has been created to reward a driven, hard-working individual with aspirations and intentions of joining the electrical industry by undergoing the necessary training and post-secondary education to become a Journeyman Electrician.
Requirements:

  • Candidate must have or be on track to earn their high school diploma
  • earned a minimum of a 2.5 GPA at the time of high school graduation

Miss Teen and Miss Utah International Pageant
These pageants have just announced that every contestant for 2017 will be awarded a $3000 scholarship to Renaissance Academie, regardless of how they place.  Also, over $86,000 in scholarships and prizes will be divided up among the winners and runners-up.  The pageant heavily focuses on volunteer work and last year, the contestants spent over 1,400 hours representing their city at the state pageant.

There are many pawesome kids doing great things to help others and we want to hear about them! The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) seeks high-school level young women to apply for the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing! Prudential Spirit of Community Award
The Prudential Spirit of Community Award is open to students in grades 5-12 who have participated in volunteer activities in the past 12 months. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program rewards excellence by supporting high achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. Selected from a nationwide pool of applicants, up to 40 students will become Jack Kent Cooke Scholars and have access to funding for up to four years for undergraduate studies. This highly competitive scholarship includes: up to $40,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school, ability to pursue any area of study, personal advising about selecting a college, and navigating financial aid, multifaceted advising about how to transition to college and maximize the college student experience.

Utah JumpStart Scholarship Competition

This scholarship is designed to recognize students who can demonstrate a solid understanding of financial literary concepts and are pursuing a post-secondary education either at a university, college, trade school or similar institution of higher learning.  They are looking for creative, engaging VIDEO entries that capture the important principles of preparing financially for college while keeping debt to a minimum.

Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Christopher Columbus Essay Contest
The DAR sponsors this contest in honor of Christopher Columbus. Each academic year, an essay topic is chosen and contest instructions are made available to students. 

The contest is open to students in grades 9-12. Essays are judged for historical accuracy, adherence to topic, organization of materials, interest, originality, spelling, grammar, punctuation and neatness. Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizens
The DAR Good Citizens program and scholarship contest is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. The program is open to all senior class students enrolled in accredited public or private secondary schools. United States citizenship is not required.

The procedure for selecting a DAR Good Citizen is for the school faculty and students to select one senior who has demonstrated, to an outstanding degree, the qualities of a good citizen: dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. Only one student per year may be honored as a school's DAR Good Citizen. This student is then eligible, if he/she wishes, to enter the DAR Good Citizens scholarship contest. The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers
The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers identifies teenagers with exceptional artistic and literary talent and brings their remarkable work to a national audience through The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Produced in partnership with the National Constitution Center (NCC) and sponsored by the Maurice R. Each 2019 Youth Leadership Award recipient will be honored with a plaque and a monetary award at the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration held at the University of Utah. GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship
Honoring the legacy and character of our nation's 40th president, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education. Awards are for undergraduate study only, and may be used for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room and board.

APIASF Scholarship Program

 

Scholarships range from one-time $2,500 awards to $20,000 awards.  APIASF provides scholarships to underserved AAPI students with a special focus on those who:

UYSA College Scholarship

This program is open to Utah soccer players who are registered to a UYSA affiliated club and are graduating high school seniors.  Two scholarships, one to a male soccer player and one to a female soccer player, will be awarded to two players from the DISTRICT IN WHICH THEY ARE REGISTERED.  You may submit a digital or paper submission.

The U-S2TEM program, funded through the National Science Foundation, is a partnership of the Global Change and Sustainability Center and the Center for Science and Math Education (CSME) to provide academically talented, financially challenged, and diverse undergraduate students with unique educational and research opportunities. CTE Scholarships and Tuition Awards are for outstanding Career and Technical Education (CTE) students. The awards cover up to one year of tuition. University of Utah ARUP Utah Promise

The University of Utah provides a specific scholarship program that assists incoming Freshman students in financial need with educational costs. The Utah Promise scholarship program provides additional support to academically qualified students with financial need to gain access to a great education that the University of Utah provides.

The Utah Promise scholarship provides $2,000 per year ($1,000 each semester) to recipients, for up to 4 semesters. Awards will be offered to students as funding allows, with consideration being given to those identified with the highest financial need. The Chicana/o Scholarship Fund - University of Utah

In 1973, in honor of the ideals and principles of equal opportunity and social justice in education, a group of Chicana/o comprised of members from the community and University of Utah students, staff, and faculty initiated the Chicana/o Scholarship Fund at the University of Utah. Committed to all students of diversity who promote the cultural pride and tradition of the Chicana/o-Latina/o community, the Chicana/o Scholarship Fund recognizes and assists students in their undergraduate and/or graduate education endeavors. The Chicana/o Scholarship Fund awards a number of scholarships to graduating high school seniors who will be entering their freshman year at the University of Utah and undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Utah.

American Legion Oratorical Scholarship Program

The NROTC scholarship is offered through the University of Utah and Westminster College.

Speaking subjects must be on some aspect of the U.S. Constitution, with some emphasis on the duties and obligations of citizens to our government. Speeches are 8 to 10 minutes long; three- to five-minute speeches on an assigned topic also are part of the contest. See website for more information about topics.

Scholarships are awarded to the three finalists. First place receives $18,000, second place receives $16,000 and third place receives $14,000. Each individual state winner certified into and participating in the first round of the national contest receives a $1,500 scholarship. Scholarships may be used to attend any college or university in the United States. Funding comes from The American Legion Life Insurance Fund. In addition to the national organization's scholarships, hundreds of scholarships are awarded to participants by posts, districts, counties, and departments during earlier levels of competition. Scholarships can equal up to $180,000 - full tuition, student fees, books, housing (at Westminster), $250 stipend per month during the first year of school.

Utah Opportunity Scholarship - University of Utah

The Davidson Fellows Scholarship

The Davidson Fellows Scholarship awards $50,000, $25,000, and $10,000 scholarships to extraordinary young people, 18 and under, who have completed a significant piece of work. Daughters of the American Revolution National Society Scholarship

The NSDAR awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of degrees in diverse disciplines including history, law, nursing, and education. The DAR Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to qualified applicants regardless of race, religion, sex or national origin. All multi-year scholarships, typically renewable up to four years, must be for consecutive years of attendance at an accredited college or university in the United States. Alzheimer's Awareness College Scholarship

In a further effort to provide an outlet for teenagers to express their thoughts about Alzheimer's disease and to engage the younger generation in this cause, AFA is pleased to offer the AFA Teens for Alzheimer's Awareness College Scholarship. Beginning in 2014, scholarship awards to deserving college-bound students will be a $5,000 scholarship to the winner; and $2,500 and $1,000 scholarships to the first and second runners-up, respectively. Additionally, seven $500 scholarships will be awarded for Honorable Mention. This scholarship provides an excellent opportunity for college-bound students to give thoughtful consideration to the impact Alzheimer's disease has on their own lives and others in their family and community.

Zions Pays for A's

Getting good grades in school pays off - literally. You've worked hard for your grades; it's time to get paid for it! Hardworking 7th to 12th grade teen students (ages 13 to 18) in Utah and Idaho can earn $1 per "A" on their 2017-2018 report cards. Plus, for each "A", students are automatically entered into drawings to win one of 152 scholarship savings accounts, worth up to $1,000.

Here's how: Take your most recent report card for the 2019-2020 school year to any Zions Bank Financial Center. For every "A", get $1 deposited into your Student Savings Account. Don't have an account or not a client? No problem, you'll still be rewarded 0.50 cents per "A" on your report card, get automatically entered for the chance to win drawings for scholarship savings accounts. Carrington Court Scholarship

This is a service based scholarship, available ONLY to Bingham High School Students.  Carrington Court is a retirement/assisted living home here in the South Jordan Community.  They are offering a scholarship that will be awarded to the student that creates the most innovative, organized, exciting, engaging idea/activity that will benefit the residents of Carrington Court through entertainment or education.

 Guidelines are as follows:

  • 10th, 11th and 12th grade students may submit an application
  • This scholarship is NOT grade based
  • Activity must be at least one hour in length
  • Activity must be organized by scholarship applicant, but activity must be provided by a group of students (we will not put a precise number, but no less than five) that you have organized and prepared them to perform activity
  • Activity must be able to be done inside, unless mild weather
  • Activity must be done Monday-Saturday.  Event must be completed by 5:00 pm
  • Activity must be reviewed by a Carrington Court Activities director before acceptance is granted
  • Activity must be engaging and of interest to our residents

One week upon completion of your activity, you must submit a 3 page, double spaced, 12 pt. font word essay describing the creation and organization of the activity and what you learned from it and how you engaged the residents.  15 pictures of the event must be submitted along with this activity. Each activity will be recorded to help in the evaluation process

The Dream Weber program provides free tuition and general student fees to students whose annual household income is $40,000 or less. How is this possible? The Dream Weber Program uses a combination of federal and state financial aid and money given to the university from generous donors. The purpose of the Dream Weber Program is to help you complete a college degree - which will improve your earning potential throughout your life.

To be eligible for the Dream Weber Program you must:

AFSA National High School Essay Contest
The AFSA High School Essay Contest is an outreach initiative of the American Foreign Service Association. Established in 1999, the annual contest encourages students to think critically about a topic of global significance and the key role diplomacy plays in connecting people and ideas.

This year's contest is about why diplomacy and peace-building matter.  The 2020 winning essayist will receive a $2,500 cash prize, an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., to meet the Secretary of State, and full tuition for a Semester at Sea voyage (once the student is enrolled at an accredited university). The runner-up will win a full scholarship to participate in the International Diplomacy program of the National Student Leadership Conference.

To participate in the scholarship program, a student must submit a 5 minute documentary film exploring some aspect of Utah's energy industry.  Topics may include the following:  conventional or unconventional fossil fuel production or processing; alternative energy resources including nuclear and renewable resource development; energy efficiency or conservation technologies or programs; and finally, electricity and natural gas utility facilities and operations.  Five scholarships will be awarded, one to a student in each of Utah's four Congressional districts.  The $4000 scholarships will be awarded to students who intend to pursue a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) related course of study at a Utah institute of higher education.  There are also five scholarships for up to $2000 for students attending a Utah technical college.

 - Must be a 11th or 12th grade student
 - Must certify your intent to pursue a STEM course of study at a Utah institution of higher education
 - Scholarship dollars may only be utilized at a public or private institution of higher education located in Utah

Select Health Scholarship -SLCC
The SelectHealth Scholarship is a two-year full scholarship for freshman Hispanic and Latinx students with demonstrated financial need at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) who are interested in a career in healthcare. In addition to paying for an awardee’s education, SelectHealth invests in each student’s personal and professional growth. Students who earn this scholarship will have the opportunity to participate in important mentoring activities throughout the year, be offered a paid summer internship, and be offered full-time employment at SelectHealth upon graduation (contingent upon meeting HR requirements).

SelectHealth will award six two-year scholarships each year

The SelectHealth Scholarship award is $2,500 per semester, which can be used for

Each year, the Barron Prize welcomes nominations of public-spirited young people who meet the following criteria:

Utah Boys State Program
