Venture runs the lottery on the third Thursday of every month, excluding December, May, and July. 

Applicants for the current year will be placed on the waiting list and offers will be made at appropriate intervals as openings become available.

Applicants for the coming year are gathered starting in October of the year preceding the school year in question. These applicants are ordered by lottery monthly.

Yes. One of our goals is to keep families together, so siblings are given enrollment preference. That means that if one child is accepted, siblings are moved from wherever they currently are on the waiting list to the bottom of the priority list. Additionally, Venture Academy maintains an articulation agreement with Promontory School of Expeditionary Learning, Greenwood Charter School, Voyage Academy, and Maria Montessori Academy. These agreement allows students who complete these schools' programs to be added to the priority list behind siblings. 

Charter School enrollment works on a first come, first served basis.  Once enrollments for a specific grade reach capacity, all future students are placed into a lottery.  Students are randomly chosen from the lottery and placed on the waiting list on a monthly basis.  As seats become open, students are contacted according to their order on the waiting list.

No, once your student is accepted into the school, their enrollment is permanent.  This includes students moving from junior high to high school.  

Yes. Once you are on the waiting list, you stay on it until you let us know you would like to be taken off. For example if your child was offered enrollment in January, you can decline the offer until the next school year if you choose.

The number of offers is roughly equivalent to the number of slots that have been vacated. There are about 480 K8 slots and about 350 High School slots.

Offers to fill open slots for the next school year will be sent starting in February. If you are not offered a spot,  you will be placed on a waiting list for your child's grade, where they will remain until a slot opens.
